This painting was a commission I’ve made in December. I really enjoyed working on it, it was a great challenge in every area. The size of the painting is A3. It was painted digitally.
I got photos of the man and the dog for reference. I’ve started working on the artwork by making three different sketches where the pose and the background was different too. Once my customer choose the sketch I finalized the lines and made some color choises for the painting.
After the colors were decided on I have started detailing the painting. I tried out Manga Studio 5 for this painting. I am quite happy with the results. It was much easier to paint the background then it was with Photoshop. Everything blended much more smoother and with less painting strokes.
